Worried That the Looming Election Could Threaten Your Retirement?

What will the outcome of this presidential election mean for your retirement? How will the winner’s actions affect the market and economy?

Retirement can be a scary place. You can no longer “wait out” a market downturn as you did when you were younger and continuing to contribute to your retirement fund. In retirement, you are living off your nest egg, and your continued retirement success depends upon protecting it. And so, you may now be wondering if your retirement strategy is “election proof?” Regardless of who wins the election, will your strategy serve you well?

How can you find out? Perhaps your stock broker has assured you that everything is just fine (just like they said in 2008), or the software linked to your 401k plan says “not to worry.” In the back of your mind, it’s likely that some doubt remains.

It may be time to shoulder more responsibility, time to find out what you need to know to judge your plan for yourself, rather than depending solely on the opinion of others (who are usually folks who won’t bear the consequences if they are wrong).

How much time have you spent on learning how to plan and manage your retirement? You wouldn’t be alone if you’ve spent more time planning a week-long vacation than the next 30 years of your life. Think positively! Maybe this election is a wake up call encouraging you to take more control of your retirement destiny.

The bad news is, it will take some effort. You will need to go “back to school,” so to speak. The good news is, we have packed the key things you must know into a concentrated 6-hour course, taught in two 3-hour sessions. These courses are held in a classroom setting at UNCW and include a 164-page workbook. All for only $49 (which includes a spouse or guest).

When you complete this class, you will have the tools and knowledge you need to get a much clearer insight into how your retirement plan may weather not just this election, but many of the other hazards we face in today’s world.

Take control of your retirement

Classes Will Cover:

  • Income Planning: What are the three major strategies for living off your savings? Which one are you using and is right for you?
  • Investment Planning: Different strategies for investing in retirement, for example, how pension funds and university endowments have successfully managed their money through recessions, and how you might copy their success.
  • Tax Planning: Does your current plan avoid the three main tax threats to 401ks and IRAs?
  • Healthcare Planning: Insulate your wealth from the unexpected.
  • Leaving a Legacy: Protect your estate and provide for your heirs regardless of the election outcome.

Only one more set of classes before the election. When you complete this class, you will be better equipped to decide for yourself if your plan may survive this year’s election results and carry you successfully through the dangers of an unpredictable world.
